Only one hen ever got a name growing up, Snow White.

Rooster wise there was Big Red, no one said we were original. He ruled for a long time and was pretty mean. Might attack you on sight but certainly would throw down if you crowed. I was given a pass unless I provoked him. I don't recall his demise but it was almost certainly protecting the hens.

Next up a grey rooster that I think had a name but I just called him ever nasty curse word I knew. At that time I only knew one, so his name is Mean Ahole. There was no Nastier rooster and he attacked everyone on sight. Usually you'd have some time to escape as he'd do a little dance where he'd circle around you dragging the inside wing before he tried to rip your face off. He met his maker at the end of a shotgun. My dad will tell the story that this was brought about when he scratch my face but I'll tell you that had nothing to do with it as such was not a special or unique event. Rather what was special is my dad went to feed the chickens once and Mean Ahole attacked him.

After that a series of forgettable roosters vied for the lead role. Only with the end of the flock and its reincarnation did another rooster stand out, an impressive specimen that the crazy chicken lady named, The General. While not into cuddling by any means he was not aggressive. I believe his days ended protecting the flock from a series of otter attacks.

Two underlings were up for the leading role but they fell in quick order before the otter problem was solved. Which left just this little feather footed banny as the only rooster. He was a riot trying to run the farm full of hens two, three times his size. Of course, Bonaparte. I think the role drastically shortened his life... due to stress.

So that's it, Snow White, Big Red, Mean Ahole, The General, and Bonaparte.

My new ladies have all been named, Alex, Abby, Hope, Jenni, Jessi, Jazmine (Jazzi?), and Morgan. ... and if you're thinking and it'd be amazing if you where, "where is Mia?" well that's the little dog's name.

The kids named a few,all roos or toms. We have Warbird and Black Night both EE and then there is the toms called Iron Hide,Megatron, and optimist. Of all the hens only 3 were ever named and that was big red, blue and white.. Guess the birds have to do something speacial to get a name, and that is usually a male fighting or acting up.
