I NEEDZ HATCHING BUDDY! Set today, 5/12/11

Day 2 and all is well.

Started with some humidity today, I've got it worked out with a shot glass. They taper so full provides 50% and as it empties goes to 40%. When it's empty humidity is 30 ish. Working a dry hatch so will let her ride with glass half full so to speak. No temp spikes, the ole LG is holding well at 99.2 to 99.7F

set ours on the 13th, good luck everyone, wash your hands, keep the lid closed and stop breathing all over the thing

So as it's spring the house was staying steady at 65 degrees. Well now that things are finally warming up that mere 5 degree hotter of 70 inside was making the incubator running near 2 degrees high. In my infinite wisdom went to 'nudge' the finicky knob to adjust for conditions...is it me or do all of us have a natural proclivity to righty tighty knobs? Anywho, long painful night of readustments and panics of 104F having to take the lid off and 4 am check to see it was 96F. I think we are about back to normal...ugh...

Is this thread dead? If so it's not the only thing I've killed.

Was reluctant to candle due to the temp spike but as it's day 18 and in starting lock down checked the damage. Of the 13 eggs one was cracked and leaking, I knew there was an odor in there, and have 3 developed. I'm not one to touch the temp control but the heating up of late spring compelled me to. Was running 2 degrees high and we were headed into even warmer weather. It's such a shame I nudged it up instead of lefty loosey down.

Anywho, here with fingers crossed those 3 all pop out running in a few days.

I am still around and watching this post. We locked down Monday night at 10:30 with 36 eggs, I am not sure about one as the air sac is on the side of the egg but there was still movement in the egg so it went into lock down too. I got up at 2 this morning to check the incubator and had 2 pips. I checked again at 8:30 this morning and one eggs had zipped and I watced it hatched by 9:15. I have 5 pips now and 1 starting to zip. I have to admit I am stuck to the incubator today like glue. I will try to post a pic when I get back home if I can figure it out.

I hope your 3 pop out.

So yours are starting to hatch 2 days early. Are they banty? I here those are early risers. I'd be glued to the incubator too. The girls here were very excited watching the one hatch last batch. They kept calling me over to see but with 4 girls and my partner hovering I said I could wait for the next few... guess I waited near 2 months.
