Oops, I did it again.
Dang TSC got a ton more chicks today. I thought I was safe because they usually get them once per week.
Our house heat went out last night and Walmart and Lowe's were out of space heaters. It could be Monday before it's fixed. They had to order a part. Waiting for the manager at TSC, I went to see the babies. The huge shipment today had, ducks, turkeys, bantams and four more kinds of chicks and they still had a ton from yesterday!
Lots more bantam Cochins, some gold laced polish, more silkies, old English and a few other things.
Worse than yesterdays dozen. I got 15. Almost all Cochins. They are my biggest weakness. I even got another Silkie so the accidental Silkie wouldn't be alone.

Cochins are my daughter's favorites too! We have both bantam and full-sized ones, and are entertaining the notion of getting some more bantams soon...

Our local stores had a tiiiinnnyyy problem a few days ago. At two stores they got their shipment of chicks in. Times four!! Somehow someone screwed up and they got shipped too many chicks. Way too many. They had a sale of buy 1 get 4 free. You have no idea how many people are now swimming in baby chicks they didn't know they needed.

We divided them into a clean legged bin (added the silkies though, as numbers were skewed), and a feather legged bin.
