I had a big surprise this evening,I knew that my two sister cats, Sicily and Graci, were both pregnant, I've had them, and their 3 brothers, since, well they were in-utero, they were born here to their mother, who is now spayed, and indoors.

Sicily was bred about a week or so before Graci, but she's so LITTLE we thought that she couldn't have kittens, so didn't rush getting her spayed, Graci is much bigger, so we knew she could carry kittens.

they're over a year old, so we actually expected kittens alot sooner, and were thinking neither of them could get pregnant.

anyways, I went into the metal shed we rarely use, to find a flash light, and heard a tiny mew!, so I panic, thinking that a feral cat had gotten in there and had kittens, I look around, and find a tiny little solid brown tabby kitten in a christmas tree box!, look for others, find only the one, rush it outside, and get Becca, she goes into the shed to look for more kittens, and I wonder whos it is, Graci is STILL about to pop, then I think "is it Sicily's?" I show it to her and she started rubbing on and calling to that baby, we take it back, and put it in the box, there is is, right on top of it, yup it's hers!

she didn't get big, AT ALL, infact, JUST today, I wondered why she hadn't grown any, not once was I expecting a kitten!

it's atleast a day and a 1/2 old, and SO big compared to momma.

and yes, she's being spayed once this kitten is weaned.

Becca thinks it's a boy, if it is he needs a name, because he's staying right here.
(the pics so how LITTLE momma is, you can see why we thought she couldn't have kittens)

I wouldn't have thought she couldn't get bred, just would have worried about her having them.

When I was a kid we didn't spay anything, had a tiny calico cat that had trouble everytime she tried to have kittens, they never servived (I think it was only two litters), her last pregnancy killed her. So if you like her I'd get her spayed!

So if you like her I'd get her spayed!

she IS being spayed, after the kitten is weaned, we'll probly have her spayed when the kitten is about 6 or 7 weeks old.

Don't think I don't like her, I love this cay, she looks just like her older sister, Uno, who was hit by a car back when I lived in WV.

we had another cat, who was really little, her mother disapeared when the kittens were about 3ish weeks old, we think that had something to do with it. she had 2?, litters I think, both times the kittens were REAL little, I mean, half the size of a normal newborn kitten, her second litter lived for, oddly, 3 weeks then she abandoned them, stopped nursing them completely, one ended up dying at about 5 weeks, the other at about 7.

Sicily is alittle bigger than Kee was(and kee wieghed all of maybe 4 pounds), we KNEW she was pregnant, but we only thought maybe about 4-5 weeks along because of how little she was, when she hadn't grown, I was thinking she'd lost the kittens and was actually going to bring up getting her spayed this coming week when I got payed again.

compared to her sister Graci(who's HUGE!, I'll have to get pics) Sicily barely looked pregnant, I had never even really payed attention to the fact that I hadn't been seeing her much the past day or so, as she likes to spend alot of time either in the house, or in the woods, I'd figured she was inside and I just never saw her.

so please don't assume that we're going to let the sisters have litter after litter, I love those cats alittle too much(they themselves ran their mother into the ground so much that she almost died), and yes I'll admit that I did atleast want Graci to have one litter, their mother is old, and spayed now, and their father got hit by a car this spring, two cats I'd known for YEARS, I'd seen Jasmine(the mother) through several litters, loving each one every time I saw them, not because they were kittens, but because I loved the cat, and I loved her babies just as much, I wanted to get her spayed for years, but not having a job, and my own mother too lazy and Selfish to help me, I couldn't, we didn't have a free spay/nueter in WV where I lived.

this little kitten, will be staying, if it's a boy, if it's a girl, I've been told I have to find it a home, same with graci's kittens, but if they don't find homes, they'll be staying right here, I am not just giving them to anyone.

Just a heads up, cats can become pregnant within days of giving birth. I know it is hard, (I had a cat in heat push her way out of a 2 story window!) But if you wait 6-7 weeks, you may have another litter on your hands. Can you isolate her indoors? I never could, I finally had to give up and spay while she was pregnant, broke my heart, but I just couldnt seem to keep her in long enough to break the cycle once it started!

Good luck to you, you may be on a tough road!

she doesn't like being inside, she is ok for about an hour or so, then it starts to freak her out.
(BUT if she starts to show signs of being in heat again, her and baby will be brought in!)

wich is wierd considering she was BORn, and raised inside for the first 3 months of her little life.

we're wanting to wait until we see the kitten out and eating solids for atleast a few days, so we know it has a hang of it. no intervention, we're going to let her do her own thing, even though she's known me since her eyes opened, she's got the "first-time-mother: thing, and is very nervious if I'm around the area where her kitten is.

if worse comes to worse, and she does end up pregnant again, since I am soley against abortions, of any kind, even animal.( I know, shoot me, thats just ME)

when we take her to the vet, I'll have her checked, and depending upon how far along she is, she'll either be spayed, or let to have the litter then spayed right after. I am hoping that she takes after her mother, only once did she get pregnant back to back.

I'm still trying to think of a name for it,but I have no clue LOL

the baby has a name, AND a gender.

both Becca and her mom said he's a boy, so he does get to stay,

and his name......is Pasta LMAO.

Sicily and her siblings names just sorta came to us, and stuck.

and Pasta sorta goes along with Sicily.....I dunno, we may change it once he gets a personality.

Becca pointed out something I hadn't noticed, he's got marking like his grandmother Jasmine.wich is Beccas best-cat girlfriend LOL.

he'ss not more than a week old, she was pregnant about 3 days ago.

thats just how BIG he is, he's the only one of his litter, so he gets ALL momma's goodies LOL.

his umbilical cord is still attached (but dry), they usually fall off by about 5-7 days old.

I'm surprised at what a good momma she's being, though she does look tired already, but it's been hot today, and now it's storming LOL.
