I only said neuter all the males since you seemed to not want to spay the females. Kittens can be spayed VERY young... certainly before their first heat. The feral males can be caught, neutered and released. Here ferals are fixed for free. Female kittens are $15 for spay and males $10 under 4 months and $30 /$15 after.

As far as your comment about how this always comes up... well of course it's going to when you post the info you posted. This is not a healthy situation for your cats. You even said yourself you were surprised they didnt get pregnant earlier. I just don't get how "animal lovers" can put their pets in these types of situation... sorry it makes no sense to me to not do the "healthy" thing for your animals. Let me guess.. none of them have vaccinations either?

If you post something like this in a public forum.. expect those of us who work at rescues and shelters to be upset as we deal with backyard breeders regularly and see the damage it causes. If you wanted more cats... adopt and help the problem.. don't contribute to it.

Roanoke, VA...Angels of Assisi-They spay and neuter at very reasonable fees. I also volunteer with their feral cat spay/neuter clinic once a month. Give them a call..

yes, ALL the cats are vaccinated, the Sicily and Graci and her brothers were all given their shots when they got a round of URI when they were younger, so yes, they are vaccinated

we have called the free clinic, Graci, as well as our kitten Keebler are scheduled for the 18th.

they need to work in a spot for Sicily.

we've never cought cats in live traps we've set before, only possums. the cats get wise, and the big grey tom only comes to the edge of the woods.

as far as how they were stuck, they were all stuck in her fur on her tail, their umbilical cords were wrapped around each others cords.

we got them all free, one little grey kitten has a swollen foot wich if it hasn't gone down by tomorrow, it's going to a vet.

niether of the two girls nor thier brother have been inside for MONTHS, they don't like it, Graci attacked one of our poms today for getting too close to her.

if I have to, I will ask who ever to lock this thread, last I checked, letting cats who are still cared for, and are healthy, have one litter wasn't the end of the world.

Cats can go into heat and get pregnant within 72 hours after giving birth

that doesn't always mean they WILL, I have NEVER had a cat do that, most cats are too occupied with babies to go into heat, I am aware of the way cats work, I've had them all my life

and FYI, BOTH of the girl kittens already have homes

There's always the .22 method of spaying and neutering feral cats.

I'm sorry but when a cat that we don't know comes into our yard and kills our birds or comes near our own cat. The feral cat is dead.
