I now understand!

Mine just started laying last week. They are at about 29 weeks.
I am getting 2 a day, consistently & am also SO excited. It is such a validation that all the work was worth it.
My honey & his brother have given the go ahead to expand the operation next spring, which is great news.
I don't plan to add a lot of girls, just make a better coop so I can, if I so choose.

Two weeks ago, if someone had said, "Be patient, it is worth the wait," I probably would have given them quite the look (and possibly a piece of my mind) but now, on cloud 9, I think that hypothetical person gives great advice.

Congrats!

Our 21 week old RIR just laid her first 2, one yesterday during a rainstorm and one this sunny afternoon.

She's been singing LOUDLY for half a week and has been running around and squatting for a couple days. I totally understand the sense of accomlishment, even if we didn't really do anything but keep them safe and happy. I can't wait until the others start laying, but they are 2 weeks younger. Any day now!
