I only need 5 day old chicks

All of the hatcherys I have found on-line have a minimum order of 15-25 baby chicks.
Can anyone tell me how do I get a mixed bag of 5 day old pullets?

I believe My Pet Chicken will ship 5 at a time.

Cackle Hatchery also will ship 5 birds. You might have to pay a little extra shipping costs - they have to be kept extra warm in shipment.

I was headed to local feed store to see if I could piggy-back on their spring order.

Try your local feed store. Tractor Supply Company will often get them in starting around now - if they don't have any now, you can always ask when they'll get them.

Best thing about this method is that you are assured that the chicks will be alive when they arrive and you don't have to pay for shipping.

You can do My Pet Chicken or Cackle like they said, but it's expensive. I got 3 chicks from MPC and it cost about 45$ total with shipping for them. Trying to go on an order with the feed store would probably be cheaper or finding someone near you selling chicks.

Feed stores might let you add in five chickes to their orders, or maybe you could go in on a larger order with someone else.

Ideal has no minimum and for 25 bucks they ship..but they will ad males for warmth at no cost especially with the cold right now..
