i order 100 eggs from purely purity. hatching problems

i ordered 100 eggs and we had 12 eggs hatch on day 18 and the rest havent done anything yet. does it take longer sometimes for other eggs or could we have gotten older eggs for the first 12 and the other been on different days. we are just trying to figure out what to do cause it is now day 24 on the eggs in the incubator

Wow, you poor thing! 12 out of 100 isn't very good at all. Have you candled them? Do any of the eggs appear to be 'sweating' at all? Have you opened your incubator since the first chicks hatched?

The problem may have been due to temperature fluctuations during shipping. It sounds like the 12 started developing early. Of this is so, it could mean that they were damaged during those critical first days of incubation.

yes we got those chicks out and i candled a few of them when we first got them. more like half and they seemed ok . but this is the first time ive ever hatched eggs. so this is all new to me. im going to keep them n a few more days to see what happens. but thanks

Wow! They didn't even wait until lockdown! Did you candle the eggs on days 7, 14 and 18? When eggs do not hatch by day 21, I candle them again to see if I can see any movement or pips into the air cell. If not, I water candle them before making a final decison. I wouldn't want to start an eggtopsy and injure a live chick.
