Now I can hardly get any of them to come to me ...

I guess I'm jealous of seeing you all with your chicken on your shoulder or arm.... even in your lap.

Mine are 5 and half weeks old and the only time them want to see me is when I have a treat.

Will they get over that?
What could I do thats different?

I held my babies daily when they were little but from 5 weeks to 16 weeks I couldn't touch them unless I had scatch grain. When they start laying they calm down allot!

I gotta say this, even if it is not very warm and fuzzy:

Chickens are not people and I'm convinced do not share our sensibilites nor any sense of moral obligation to you, their steward. They like you if you are carrying food, but there is no reciprocation among them, for all you do on their behalf.

Maybe some will come round and be "friendly," maybe none will. I had one, Hazel, who was my busom buddy and would come to me whenever I came into sight. The rest of her flock mates?
They couldnt care less and kept their distance.

I dont say this to be a butthead. It's just the truth and I want you to be comfortable.
