Honestly I didn't think they would give in so easily either. I guess the folks at the rheumatologist office know how to deal with it. Now that I can take this med. I can stop taking the darvocets, the flexeril and the sleep med. Of course, the insurance company doesn't care, but my liver is sure to be relieved.

Plus, this past week my DH decided to go ahead and add me to his health insurance thru his job, even if he is going to retire soon. I can just envision the fights that are going to go on between my medicare insurance and his insurance about who has to pay for the medicine.

At least now I'll be able to have the neurological tests my doctor wants me to have but I have had to keep postponing because I can't afford the 20% that medicare doesn't pay.

So happy for you Kat, it will make so much difference to be able to take meds on a reg basis that actually work for you. It sure doesn't help when you are switching back and forth from 'good' meds to 'bad' ones and then back again. And the relief from the stress al this causes will help you situation as well. Gotta admit that I'm also happy for you because it's a hopeful sign for me that maybe the insurance co.s are getting the idea that we can't substitute meds that don't work for a particular symptom and expect any kind of good results. Maybe my company will accept this as well.

Thanks so much y'all. Your support thru all of this has helped me more than I can say.
