I put 50 shipped eggs in the Bator (Candle Update #1)

Had three silkie hatch Monday morn. Three out of three. Last one out of my deceased Blacks. 2 splash. All coneheads and very pretty. I put 36 silkie eggs from Bobbi Porto and 16 from Jody/Hinkjc. Started on the 15. I will keep you posted on how they candle and how many are growing. Some of my best stuff has come from Bobbi. My whites have started haveing a lot of fertiles since I got the extra roo out. I may start selling some of them the end of Jan.

All laughing aside. As you may remember I lost my gorgeous buff and blacks to Owl. Just trying to replace lost stock and I got a lot of eggs for less than one costly bird. Maybe I will get one or two SQ out the bunch and sell the rest. I am supposed to buy some adults at a show next month too. It takes time to get what you want. Lots of hatching and culling.

I couldn't be in a show so I sure as heck couldn't expect my bird to be in one either.

Yay Julie, I don't have anything incubating now. I have babies in the garage and I don't want to start a second brood until I get them outside. Then I think I will hatch some of my own. I am getting a new pullet come into lay about each week lately. Two Black Silkies and two Sizzles.

I just separated one of Jody's babies that just turned 5 months old. She is showing great potential for the Muscle Shoals show in Feb. She still has lots of feathers in partial quill in her crest which is huge and she is CLEAR. Toe separation could be better but she is a little sweetie. It will be fun to see how see does.

I hope you get some really nice chicks out of this hatch. I can't wait to see pics.

Me too Jaynie. I have got to figure out a way to separate the bator into four sections so I can put eggs from different hatching pens that are marked from Bobbie and the ones from Jody till I can ban them. You need to take a pic of your little buff so I can see it.
