What happens if a hen is broody for long?

I removed her own fertile eggs , however another hen goes and gives egg, in her cabinet ,and then the broody sit on them.

Im a single person, cannot manage so many chickens on my own !!

Most hens will eventually quit being broody at some point, even if no chicks hatch.

I have heard of a few hens (rare) that will keep sitting and die, presumably from starvation (since broodies usually do not eat much.) But they seem to be much less common than broodies that stop at some point while they are still in good health.
