Turtles are extremely tough animals. If it was just a small area I would bet the little guy will be fine. We found a turtle by the road, hit by a car, that was literally just a bunch of turtle chunks barely held together. We took her home, stuck her together, spent a couple of months cleaning and dressing and re assembling her. 3 years later she is still with us and has even laid eggs a few times.
We found a turtle missing 2 legs (a back one and a front one) and part of the nose missing I think a musk rat got a hold of it. We let it go though somehow it managed to swim. The wounds were old when we found it and healed.
wow that is incredible!!! Ya it didnt seem like anything too bad, but Im not sure how turtles are when it comes to injuries! This is very incouraging!! Thanks guys!! Ive had an African Sulcata Tortoise for 6 years, but he never got injured, maybe a scratch or two but never enough to draw blood or show flesh, although even this didnt seem deep enough to show the flesh, but it did. Anywho thanks everyone! If I happen to see him again, I will update everyone and hopefully with pics!!
