but thats about the only thing anyone can think of (someone stealing him, not bigfoot), otherwise you'd have torn cage mesh/fur ect.

Since your in the middle of nowhere is it possible it's someone you know? I know it's hard to believe someone you know could do such a thing but I've heard many similar stories about this.

Some people steal and sell.
