I received my bantam cochins (pics)

I have three little cochins and today I noticed my white one is not standing on its leg... does this mean I might need to cull it?

How do I splint a cochin with his fuzzy little legs, won't the tape hurt it?​

I've never had to do this but would rubbing his legs with Vaseline or some other type of oil keep the tape from hurting his feathers? Or does that defeat the purpose? I've never had to splint a chick leg so please forgive me if this suggestion sounds silly

It's not silly... this is all new to me. I have never had to do this before... I have tried searching splinting pics but it keeps bringing up spraddle leg.. this isn't the same is it?
