I runned it over...

Even if they are just a week old and attacked by a blue jay?

3 Easter eggers, and one silkie, the barred rock was spared, one EE was dead. That bird was in it just for the kill. But I am dabbing neosporin on there pecks and they are doing ok. The one that got it the worst can open its eye today, just a little.

oh my goodness...I didn't realize that many were injured. I just thought it got the one. bad blue jay! I never thought they'd do that to another bird.

I'm so sorry!

I know how you feel because I got upset one time when I ran over a squirrel. I looked in my mirror after I ran over it and saw it rolling in the road behind me. I don't even like squirrels but I really hated that I had killed one.

Blue jays are really mean. They kill baby birds in nests, too. And this one went into the wire cage, the roof wire part was big enough for it to fit through, and it attacked in a matter of seconds, DH was home attending them while they took a dirt bath, I was at work, he walked away for a minute. He was so very upset.

awww...see, that's why you got that trough outside...you need to wash yourself outside in their presence.

That song is an inside joke in our house. I hum the song everytime my two 8 month old cats are playing out in the yard. Our animal shelter calls having cats as outside pets, and more specifically, barncats...abusive treatment!

So, everytime they start frolicking and playing, I start humming/singing that song and my DW chuckles:

You're right...swerving is bad...especially with kids in tow, g!

You haven't done anything crazy. Just the other night, I had to pull over to get one of those huge brown moths off of the road. It was flying funny and I didn't want it to get smooshed on a windshield...
