I saw a Painted Bunting yesterday!

He was at my bird bath drinking.

I knew they were around here, but I don't think they are real common.

Several years ago I saw one flying around in Austin, but never out here.

They are so beautiful!

ha ha ha...gaudily colored...that's not nice. Reminds me of my mom's wall paper in the 70's. Just kiddin.

Oh sooo pretty! I've never seen that variety. I did just see my first indigo bunting about a month ago. I'd never seen one before, but I just knew what it was when I saw it...first thought, wow that's the most blue bluebird I've ever seen! LOL I came home and googled the indigo and it's exactly the bird I was so fortunate to get a good look at.

We have one that has been hanging around for a couple years. They are so pretty - we have some summer tanagers too that are so pretty! The indigo buntings and bluebirds are plentiful and so beautiful too LOL I am a bird lover!

I wish that we had those here in MO. We do have the Indigo Buntings and they take my breath away! So happy you got to see such a lovely bird!!

Hi! They are little beauties! We see Indigo Buntings here frequently (passing through) but never Painted Buntings.
Lucky you! Keep your eyes open, maybe there are more to come.

I don't think we get the painted ones here, but we do get indigo buntings. Had one in the yard a few weeks ago too! We might have seen a Lazuli bunting here several years ago...
Keep a camera by the window too or on you sometimes so you can get pics lol
