I see a pool of blood! Help!

It is likely it just happened to pip through a blood vessel. I'm so sorry - but it is one of those things that isn't anyone's fault & doesn't mean there was something wrong with the baby. Just bad luck.

Well, that little chick died in its shell shortly after it lost all that blood, but on a good note I do have 8 thriving chicks and still more to hatch!

Here is a picture taken at 6:49 a.m. It started pipping last night around 6p.m.
I am not sure how this happened? and there is blood dripped on the side of the bator too? never had this happen but that chicks membrane looks VERY ODD... please read this article https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching

I read its dead, I dont even see a beak in the pick. sorry usually they dont pip that far as they have stages and absorbe blood before zipping... its a LOOOONNG stage in between the pip and zip stages.

Sorry for your loss

Thank you SallySunshine. I did read that article the night before and after the 12 hours had gone by and this is what happened to the egg. I did see the beak at one point but it was before this had happened. That chick was moving really weird inside that shell and I did not touch it. I figured it might be okay and if not that is just life. That article had a ton of good info for a first time hatcher. I really enjoyed it and I have enjoyed the 8 chicks that I do have. 15 more are still in the bator and I'm waiting to see what happens with those. All of these chicks hatched a day early!
