I built a homemade incubator (posted it in another post) and spent 3 days learning how to work it. I finally felt comfortable enough to set my batch today. It's a still air incubator, but I cannot seem to get it to 101 degrees. Its either 100 or 102, so I am leaving it at 100. Does this sound okay?

Anyhow, if my eggs were set today 1/31 (around lunch time) does that mean my hatch date is Feb 21st?

I have 13 eggs in all. 6 are BLRW, 4 are SLW, and 3 are cochins. They came from a local breeder. I will try and candle them on day 7. I really hope I can get at least one or two chicks. I would be very sad indeed if none of them made it!

Wish me luck! I will need it!

Sounds like you will have some chicks to me. If you are using just one thermometer I would suggest you put two in and get an average. You may find that you're closer to the "perfect temperature" than you think.

Thank you!

I am on day two and I keep checking every 10 minutes to an hour. I guess I am obsessive

So far, humidity has ranged from 21 to 55. I am trying to keep it in the low 40's and above 25. Luckily, it only goes over 50 when I add water and it doesn't stay there long. For the most part it is staying in the 40's probably 75% of the time. Whew!

Temp is ranging from 99 to 100.

Eggs are being turned 3 times daily. I cannot wait to candle them!!

I would consider the 31st day 1 and 100 is where I would try to keep it. Good luck.
