We were hatching out some eggs that I bought from someone else. Most of them seemed to have developed well by lock down. I'd say 9 out of 12 were viable.
Only 2 hatched. I kept the incubator on, kept the humidity up but there wasn't so much as a pip from the other 7. I kept it on for 7 days after the hatch date, but they just never did anything.
The incubator did lose power about 3 times (accidental unplugging from the kids) very early on in the process, but they still developed as they should have so I don't imagine that's it. Any ideas what could have caused us to lose those 7 chicks?
We've had 2 successful previous hatchings so this was a bit of a surprise.
