I can't imagine the reasons to "hide" chickens. Dogs bark loudly and they aren't banned from cities. I'd much rather step in chicken poo than dog poo. It's far less smelly. I applaud you for your efforts in keeping chickens.

That's why I LOVE living in the country where neighbors don't swash your dreams.

Well, I just got back from gifting eggs on one of my wonderful neighbors...

I am in the process of building a chicken pen on the coop and had gone to Home Depot for some wood I couldn't scavenge. While I was gone, the Ladies of the Manor decided to go on a little road trip... *sigh* (...except for Gwen the Good, who was yelling her head off in the backyard.)

There really are nice people in the city. My neighbors were gathering the girls back into my yard as I pulled into the driveway. But, this kind of thing does not help the urban chicken cause, especially after the USA Today story featuring Nifty-Chicken where the naysayers talk about chickens running amok. Luckily, my neighbors are quite charmed by the Golden Girls.

Still, I must build faster!
