I slapped a hawk today.

My Kindle was fine. Boy that hawk would have been in deep trouble had he hurt my girls AND my Kindle!!!

And what is this Golden Shovel Award? Sounds like there is a fun story behind it.

If it was someone else. Not stateing who.... The hawk would have goten hit harder.

I hate hawks

I was literally in hysterics reading this post to my husband. This is the most amazing and hilarious post I've ever read here...

I'm still trying to picture this scenario in my head.

What is a KIndle?

A Kindle is an electronic reader made by Amazon. If you go to Amazon.com it is on the front page. It is a handy device about the size of a small book that allows you to wirelessly download books which you can read on a screen.

Wow! I can't believe that the hawk was that brave. I have three-quarters of my run covered with netting... I think I will cover the the other quarter of it when I get home from work tonight.

LOL I am still laughing at the fact you knocked the hawk out. My flock free range on a daily basis, lots of woodlands around here so we have a ton of hawks and eagles. My chickens have become quite used to the duck and cover method to escape them. They have lots of wildlife helping them out. The robins and blue jays are notorious for chasing hawks away. At least once a day one flies over the house, I have even had them fly right over my head, I could have reached up and grabbed them. So far in 4 years we have only lost one hen to a hawk. The hen whom we lost was the most curous chicken I have ever had, she wasn't afraid of anything and would walk up to any kind of animal around trying to make a new friend. The neighbors have seen me running and screaming "HAWK!!! TAKE COVER" on several occasions. SO help me god if I saw one getting a chicken of mine I'd be beating feet over there with a shovel and give him one heck of a headache.
