Friday night I was feeling a little down.
Saturday morning muscle achs and pains.
Sautrday night sore throat and lymph nodes, 102 temp.
Sunday morning less pain, still 101 temp.
Sunday night less pain, 99 temp.
This morning pain 99% gone, temp slightly above normal, still a little weak though.
(HA HA!! I win with ecenacia, vitamin C and B12 complex!!! Take THAT conventional Medicine!!!)

Now I ask you, Why can't I get sick on MONDAY!!!

I STILL believe the MEDICAL SYSTEM made me sick. I was lucky for the last three years to get away with NOT getting any shots. I was in perfect health. Of course I got the occasional cold or what not, just like any one else, but I never was flat on my back sipping beef broth through a straw!
It just so happened Wednesday I got my annual physical from Navy Medical and they found out I had not gotten any shots for a while so they gave them to me ALL AT ONCE.
WOULDN'T YOU KNOW---THREE DAYS LATER IM ON MY BACK SWEATING AND SHIVERING LIKE A MALARIA PATIENT!

How does this make me BETTER????

If i'm going to get sick from the stuff that's supposed to keep me from getting sick, then, WHATS THE FREEKIN POINT?????

Luckly my immune system is better than their vaccinations of death potion.
In two years I'll be reitred from the navy and won't be subjected to their medical experimantation any more.

My wife was bugging me, "See, messin around with those chickens...now you got the bird fluherpaghonosiphalitusaids"

I said, "If you don't stop picking on me I'll lick your eye!"
(She got cataract surgery a few days ago and has to wear a patch thing and put drops in her eye etc...)

I hear ya. I have been flat on my back for three days too, though for a different reason. I was taking a steriod, muscle relaxers and a pain pill for my back since last Monday. No problems there. My mistake was telling the doctor I havent slept good for 6 months and I might be depressed.
THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE!
He gave me a prescription for Lexapro, and one for anti-anxiety pills (which by the way, I do still feel I need, though I havent taken any yet of that kind) but, the Lexapro darn near KILLED me if how I felt was any indication!
I took the one dose, 10mg Thursday night. I was puking and dry heaves in the toilet. Okay fine, I understand some nausea. Then I started to get MUSCLE SPASMS or LEG TREMORS ALL NIGHT LONG. 12 HOURS! I couldnt rest, I was in agony, still couldnt eat, had to stop taking everything cause I could not tollorate food. I still can't comprehend spelling very well at this point. I do not remember Friday, except for the fact that my co-worker called to see where I was and a friend as well. I told them both I could not drive at all and would see them when I came out of my coma. I havent hardly been able to walk for days due to leg pain from all the spasms, and I have been pretty lightheaded and foggy. My hubby, who doesnt believe in any of this because he can survive on vitamins alone, probably thinks I need to be commited. Doctors office told me to stop taking it and let it ride out till Monday when I could pick up some samples of Cymbalta instead.
My Mother tried lexapro quite some time ago I heard Saturday and she had the same effects except she managed to take it for 4 weeks before giving up.
Now, while I understand that these drugs can make you better, (I have had anti-depressents in the past but several years ago) and that they do not work overnight, I cannot comprehend why if you are so sick after one night, you would torture yourself more than that for the sake of feeling better?
I mean, I do not think I felt as bad as I did after the meds before I took them, thats a fact.

I will take the Lexapro samples back, but I really am pretty possitive the only think going in my stomach at this moment is the back meds, and some Vitamin B Complex. I will try not to kill my boss at work in the mean time, but it will be a stretch.

That's the navy for ya. Can't ya remember standing in line at boot camp with a person on each side with an air gun, shootin ya full of different medicines. I remember it to this day, and that was 21 yrs ago.

This may sound like s stupid question but did your DR look up the drug interraction of steriodal pain medication , anxiety pills, and lexapro? (escitalopram)

Do not use escitalopram if you are using an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), or selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam). Serious and sometimes fatal reactions can occur when these medicines are taken with escitalopram. You must wait at least 14 days after stopping an MAO inhibitor before you can take escitalopram. After you stop taking escitalopram, you must wait at least 14 days before you start taking an MAOI.

Also your symptoms sounds like an oerdose. Symptoms of an escitalopram overdose may include nausea, vomiting, tremor, sweating, rapid heartbeat, confusion, dizziness, seizures, and coma.

That's why, most of the time, In my opinion, these things can be helped with herbal techniques, or "Alternative Medicen"

I'd would seek out a holistic health practitioner (HHP) that will take your insurance.

Seismec,

You know, I remember asking the doctor specifically about the back meds (steroid & Muscle relaxer) and the combination with the anti-depressent, but he said to just keep a close on on it for extreme drowsiness. I am glad that I did not take the anti-anxiety pills as well, and glad I decided to hold off on the new Anti-depressant meds they want to put me on now. I think that for now, seeing my brain is still a bit clouded, I need to get off all the back pain meds and steroids first. Maybe after some time, I will try something else, but for rightnow, no way and I agree that waiting a few weeks is a GOOD idea. Maybe I am just having an increased down effect from the one dose I did take of the Lorazapam, but I am not willign to risk anything at the moment by trying something else.

I have been stressed since around November, with hubby getting his hours cut alot and my hours getting cut in half, and then I had a slew of sick birds, and it being winter and all heating bills and such...eghh. Also my Corgi has to eventually have 2 surgeries on her hips, she has at 6 years old, extreme hip dysplasia in both rear hips.

We have taken a few steps to improving the situation though, we bought a new used car from a friend which is saving us a few hundred dollars a month in fuel bills, and we have added insulation into the old house, and are replacing windows this summer to help with the heat bill as well. We have had savings, so that was good, but, I hate to touch it. And all my birds are well again.

I am going to see if all iof this will get me out of my funk so to speak and with the extended sunny days, who knows. I am taking Vit B Complex right now which is what hubby takes only for stress.

I was glad to see this topic, as I guess I need some support as well.
