I just started building my coop this weekend. Got the floor done.I want the nesting boxes on the inside just to keep the varmints away. My windows are going on a long wall, and the nest boxes would be facing the windows. Will that work. My wife wants the windows to face south mostly in the winter. It will be moveable.
Will this work or do the girls need darkness?
My coop has only the two big ventilation windows for light. I figure the less time they spend in the coop the better (less poo to clean up). It is plenty light enough and I get plenty of eggs. However, I'd put as many windows as you wish. My food and water are outside the coop and in the run, again, less time in the coop.
