I have a girl with a hooked beak I trimmed off to much from the top and it’s started bleeding. The quick stop really didn’t help. So from being on here I used corn starch and eventually it stopped bleeding. It was a long and scary processes. Because of the shape of her beak it’s hard to get pressure in the right place. I’ve got her in my kitchen in a dog carrier with a towel over it. What should I do now? I’m afraid to give her any food and water. I don’t want her to start bleeding again. What should my next steps be? I’m trying not to have totally melt down.

You can offer wet mash and keep an eye on her. I would definitely offer some water. Since she is isolated, you can reapply the corn starch if needed. It's like a nail being ripped off or cut too short. Eventually it will stop bleeding.

Thanks for the response! I was worried about how long to wait to give her something. It took a long time to get the bleeding to stop because of the angle.
