We found this chicken about a week ago. (I have of course posted about finding her, and been watching lost ads, but no one has claimed her yet.) After doing a bit of research, I think she's an Australorp? She does have a green sheen to her feathers, not too noticeable in the pictures.
Is there any way to tell how old she is, and if she is a she? She's probably about 3-4 lbs, at a guess, and she's put on a bit of weight since we found her.

Oh thank you!!! I had no idea they got so mature looking so fast! I'm a dog person, so the chicken thing is new to us.

The green sheen does not mean anything. All birds of all species that are black will sheen greenish or purplish.
If her feet are whitish pink on the bottom then she's an Austrolorp. If she's yellowish on the foot bottom, then black jersey giant.
