Hi,

I started out with one broody Silkie, then two, now three, and my Silkie/Frizzle (Sizzle, I think) has joined them! So there are 4 broody hens in one nest, what a sight! Even though they look very "stern", luckily they are easy to handle and I can check under them for eggs (just put my hand under them and I can lift them with the top of my hand) without getting severely attacked.

However, I think they have upset the others. They still are laying well but the Broodies have taken over the favorite laying nest. This has obviously bothered my EE, as she slowed down from laying 4 to 5 days in a row to laying one every other day. I found one of her eggs on the floor of the coop, guess she had no idea where to lay.

But now I have fixed up two more laying nests with A LOT of straw and they are using them. And my EE is back to her normal self!

Crazy chickens! Genie
