I need your input here. I am still not getting any eggs.
It's been 2 months (to the day) that Nuggets, my Java, has stopped laying. Dexter, my Wyandotte has stopped 3 weeks after Nuggets and is still "on break".
There are a few feathers here and there, but unless they are extremely slow molters, I don't think it is molting time (they are about 10 mos old).
I have to comfess a baaad thing. I did not see that mold was getting in the inside creases of my water feeder. I have been giving them ACV with the water and figured I was safe against the battle of the mold. This nefarious event too place about 2 months ago. Now, my question, could this give my girls runny poop and get them to stop laying?
I know about cecal poop. I have seen the websie with the very upclose poops in all their shapes and forms.
I have given them yogurt for 4-5 days on and off and it seems the poop is "normal" now. They also have started going back to the laying boxes. Nothing is happening, but are they practicing?
They were good layers before this meltdown.
I have another Java, Molnut, who has continued laying but she was not around all the time as she is a professional brooder. We are at her 4th attempt since January. I was told then that they were between 28 and 30 weeks old. She could have escaped the moldy water by being in the "unbrooding crate". This doesn't seem to be working by the way, but this is another story.
Can you tell I am a newby at this? Would appreciate some feedback
