I think I have a fox that is trap savvy!!!

Okay, it's fine. It's just sometimes with these old threads people offer advice when the op hasn't been on in years anyway. I'm sorry if I sounded bratty or something.

I am sorry if I came on a bit strong. I am a rank amateur/novice at computer socializing. I don't own a smart phone, I don't text and I am pretty much nonfunctional as a competent typist or computer user. I might be likely to not know what is proper or effective when it comes to using social media sites! So, actually I should thank you for pointing out any information about how it all works!

It's perfectly fine. Thank you for forgiving me.

BTW, my story is over 50 years old. All of these post are still here and people still read them. It must be a generational thing to be embarrassed to comment on an old subject line. Every time a new reader comes to a thread it is new to them , regardless of when it originated! They should grow like trees and allow anyone who desires, to read as far as they choose to follow it. Anyway, thanks for pointing out the age of the thread for anyone who did not notice the dates! I do not comment only to gab, I try to add interest, incites and my personal take on subjects. If no one reads it for ten years,(or ever) Ok , no problem! If I learned something 50 years ago that is not represented on a related thread that I am reading, it is new information for that thread. I may collaborate with some older post and help consolidate a readers viewpoint pro or con on the subject. My post are not meant to be all knowing, may not always be the best advice or the most popular, it is just my thoughts or history on a topic, like most of the others I read. Happy Chicken Ranching!
Very cool ! I've lived in the woods for a very long time, and have seen many fox, but never in a tree !

Being as I am from the show me state, I doubted this could happen, so I googled it, and it is fairly common for fox to climb trees !

Thanks ..... Learn something new every day ! :idunno

And yes, I see this thread is over a decade old, but agree with @Birdsonghill,s above post ..... Very well articulated.

I later learned, while squirrel hunting , that I was likely to come across gray fox in the trees. I have actually watched one go from tree to tree , never coming down, just like a squirrel. They are , however, far more likely to be curled up asleep high in a tree during the daylight hours. At the crack of dawn or at dusk, they are more likely to still be moving about. Maybe , they became more arboreal, due to all the increase in coyotes and red fox, with most of the mature forest cut down, now. Maybe they always were! I am not sure of this.
