My chicks are about 4 weeks old and can now jump out of the brooder (it's covered with plastic mesh when no one is around). I have 2 Blue-Laced Red Wyandottes and I think one of them is a rooster. The one I suspect has a larger comb than the other (coming in looking like a regular single-comb vs the other's flat pre-rose comb), and it's a bit aggressive.

S/he's the first one out on my lap when I take the cover off the brooder, and doesn't like any of the other chickens being on my lap at the same time (will jump on them). S/he's also been challenging one of my lavender orpingtons a lot. When s/he's on my lap I try to hold him back from the others that want to come up and try to correct him (tap on the head) if he pecks them.

Safe to say I have a rooster? Also, is what I'm doing okay? I don't want my other chicks to feel like they can't come see me

That much comb at 4 weeks certainly leans towards a cockerel,
but can't really see the color in the pic due to the lighting.
Another week or two, bigger and redder combs and wattles will tell the tale.

Can you take a side shot. While single combs due occur in wyandottes now and then, the non standard comb has me questioning the breed id. Also, seeing a side shot is helpful in sexing,

This is the best side shot I could get

I'd put money on a boychicka....just because of that red wattle at 4 weeks old.
