I think I have a rooster.

I'm pretty sure one of my wyandottes is a rooster. The comb is very red and there's some red growth beneath the beak and around the eyes. If I do have a rooster, how do I keep him from turning on me when he gets older? I'd rather make him like me and keep it that way before the spurs come in.

You can’t make him like you, you can try and tame him but if he decides he doesn’t like you,you generally will have a hard time rehabilitate him.

I agree you cant Make a rooster be nice to you if they dont want to be
I have a light brahma bantam roo who has never come up to attack me and I raised him with my d'uccle roo who loves to karate chop me now and then
A few times I showed him whose boss and he would not do it for a few days
(Flick him in the face with my finger or just pick him up and hold him for a bit)
I added a few new chickens to my flock and he has become more about the ladies than me) there was only one.lady before I added more.

With that being said I had a d'uccle roo before these ones that just insisted on attacking me every chance he got. Lucky for me.they were small bantmas and caused no damage
