i think i have a sick male duck

i have a pair of black east indies and the mama duck has two babies. and is in a coop by herself, while he was hanging around the rest of my ducks till recently, i have notice his feathers are all ruffled and his little curley tail feather is gone(i found it on the ground) and my daughter said he looks to have a sore on his back, i cant catch him to look further, any ideas what it might be?

Hopefully he's just malting my males are doing that right now they've lost the curly tail feathers and I swear I could make a few new ducks with all the feathers on the ground lol I would definitely grab him and check him out just to be sure tho especially if you believe he may have sores ...
