I THINK I heared peeping

Today is day 18 for my broody. So I did what you are supposed to do on day 18. -I tapped the egg to hear the chick peeping. I tapped an egg about 15 times. But I didn't here a think. So I decieded to hit the egg really hard. As my hand reached the egg, I here a soft sound. I put the egg on my ear and I hered I small peep. I'm not sure if it was my imagination or not. What is a peeping egg supposed to sound like? Does peeping mean that the egg is gunna hatch today?

They do peep in the shell!

If it's just day 18, they they probably will not hatch...but as you get closer to day 21 the chirping will get louder and you will be able to hear them working on getting out of the shell.
