Wishing a roo would be nice is a waste of time. Small children need to be protected from possible attack.
One must remember, too, that a roo does not have a large brain, and therefore does no reasoning, and a roo can go from a pet to a nightmare in a moment.
I do not make pets of my roos. I make them get out of my way from the beginning. But even if you do everything right, or everything wrong, you can get a rotten roo, or a wonderful roo. It is largely the luck of the draw.
