This blk/wht kitty keeps coming around and was scared of people, but you could tell she is desperate for attention and starving. Ive been putting food out for her everyday. A couple of days ago, she let me rub her head. Last night she got in my lap, and needed me and purred while I pet her. By, doing so, she earned herself a name, a can of food, and a place in my heart. Her name is Scarlett. She looks to be under a year old. Shes thin. As soon as I am sure I completely have her trust shell be going for a check up at the vet and were gonna test her for FIV and Feline Leukemia (sp). As of now, I wash my hands and change my clothes everytime I handle her, before I touch my indoor kitty. I gotta go get her vaccines. Need to worm her, put flea medicine on her, and most importantly get her fixed. Ooooh, I can see the vet bills already!

It is a valid point! She sounds sweet but make sure she is not your KILLER

she sounds adorable! i highly doubt, however, that a kitten under a year old is killing chickens. well, i hope! that would be gross!

haha you guys are funny....shes definitely not round in the belly now....there were 2 black kittens that i found just before i met her. they were super cute and i left them so that mommy could nurse them for a few more weeks (they were around 4 weeks) and then i was gonna take them and find them homes. anywho, because the kittens kept trying to follow me the mommy (whoever she is) moved them. the very next day the neighbors dog got one and i havent seen the other since. but, this cat has no milk in her teats that ive noticed. but i will check more carefully just to be sure

Thank you for taking Scarlett under your wing. It's a wonderful thing and she'll thank you every single day.

So sad to hear about the neighbor's dog getting that kitten - it had to be horrific for the poor kitten

Oh, and p.s. you probably know this already but for folks who aren't yet aware, FIV and FEL are no longer death sentences. With good care, most cats testing positive can live happy, long lives.
