Hello everyone I just bought my first two chickens ever a couple weeks ago from my local feed store. They said they were all BSL pullets but I've noticed one of my chicks combs is devolping a lot faster than the other one. I'm just not sure if she is a he or not. I really hope she is a pullet because otherwise I would have to get rid of him

. Also they're about 5 or 6 wks old right now. Thanks in advance!

That's a cockerel.

The problem with many feed stores is that chicks gets shifted from bin to bin, employees are not often knowledgeable and the rest is just human error. Just because "they said" it was a BSL doesn't make it one, of course.

Since many chicks are black or mixes of black, it isn't likely that is a Black Sex Link because the males would feather in similar to the Barred Rock used in the mix.
