I think I need some professional help...

I have WHAT in my yard? :

Man, I am SO jealous I can't get one of my girls to go broody!! If I leave the eggs sit so maybe they'll get this hint - they start to eat them!

What magic broody powder are you using?

It's called "Game Hens". There's another I'm using called "Bantam Cochin Hens".

Out of the 21 broodies, 6 are bantam cochins or cochin mixes and 11 are OEG (bantam and LF) or OEG mixes. The others are serama (2), japanese (1), and bantam EE (1).

I should add that I've only got 2 more cochin hens who aren't broody, though 1 was and got booted from her nest by 2 cochin mixes so she gave up. Unfortunately I've got several more OEG or OEGB so I'm hoping they wait at least a little longer before going!

Out of 4 hens I had 2 go broody. I was ok with the first one but I wasn't ready for the second. I needed more eggs to collect for hatching.

oh well she is now happily on 8 eggs. 7 from CA and 1 from my own flock. These are LF Faverolles and to think I went and got bantam cochins in hopes I would get broodies.

I guess I will find out about the bantam cochins soon. My pullet's (that hatched in Jan) head is starting to redden up. Hopefully I find an egg from her soon.

Good luck with your broody mansion.

Interesting that the "something in the water" effect applies to fowl as well as humans...

edit... just realized that might be taken as a subtle hint of bun notice and that is so NOT the case... yikes.
