why not? I always did mine,maybe not at birth but by 3 days old,same as the sheep,did them by 3 days at the same time I banded the tail..I think it is much easier on them younger,,,I understand if you are raising them for some ethnic groups,they want them uncastrated,,but I wouldnt leave them unless I knew I had a market for them..
