I have been learning so much from you guys about my future chicken flock. At first I was planning on ordering from one of the big hatcheries - but now that I know more about them I've changed my mind and want to order from small breeders.

Sooooo . . . I got a Hovabator. It came yesterday. And I ordered some Orphington eggs from Papa's Poultry to be shipped in October. I can't wait. I've been reading all about hatching my own chicks. This week when my thermometer/hydrometer arrive I'm going to fire up the incubator with some store eggs and see if I can keep it in the right range.

I'm so nervous - and excited.

I hope the incubation and hatch goes well and you get some cute fluffy chicks!

Today my husband said that we should get some ducks too. Guess my incubator will be put to good use.[IMG]
