I think I'm going to do this with eggs this winter. Don't know if this is the right section to post this.

Yes, I am. But it's an ATU (aerobic treatment unit) so it could easily handle the load with only me living here. It is capable of handling waste for a family of 4.
Still, I can't imagine 286 eggs in one day equal waste(the normal kind) for a family of 4.
Guess I'm just ingrained to not put anything but my own body waste down thru the septic.

My sister has one of those. I’ve looked at them, but just can’t justify the cost. I keep entering their drawing, hoping I’ll win one…
We bought our used. You may be able to find a great deal from someone who just doesn't use it enough. I used to enter the drawings too.
I have the medium unit and I can freeze dry 6 dozen eggs at a time.

I've done it.
Two winters in a row.
I lost half my eggs both winters.
I lost 268 eggs total. 268!! :barnie

This year I'm going to dehydrate and freeze my winter eggs.

I am going to run a cooking experiment soon to see how the dehydrated eggs compare to fresh in my frittata. I've read that scrambling to eat is a no go but the difference between fresh and reconstituted dried eggs in baking is not noticable.
check this out: this is how they did it in the old days I think it was on the 2nd page..
