Back in December we lost electricity due to an ice storm. Had eggs on day 18 in the incubator. The temp got down in the 70's. 3 days later 6 of the 12 eggs hatched, so don't give up!!

I had bought eggs from a friend that had some problems with her flock. We were worried about possible cross contaminates so I regretably took them out of the bator and bagged them and put them in the garbage. I was very careful so none would break. Well, about 7 hours later she sent me a message saying they would be ok. I rushed out and pulled them out of the garbage and put them back in the bator. I cant remember how many hatched but it was at least half or more of the eggs. I candled them as I put them back and they were still moving even after 7 hours at house temp. Give them a shot you would be amazed at what they can do. Jenn

If I have a late hatch, how long is late? After what day should I call it quits. 24, 25 or 26? Should I candle after day 21 if I can't see any pips?
