I think my bantam rooster ate a small mouse whole. Is that normal?

One of my girls, Edith, caught a salamander (Plethodon sp,) that was hiding under a flowerpot. I was afraid it would be poisonous and tried to get it away, but she was too quick. She dashed away and swallowed it almost whole. She seemed quite pleased with herself, and it doesn't seem to have bothered her one bit. I have been very careful about moving flowerpots when they are around since then!

After watching chickens for a few years, lemme just caution you against falling asleep in the run.

If you think those other things are weird, give them a rotisserie chicken carcass sometime.

I've see mine quartering lizards alive on the reg. It's just what they do.
