I think my chicken is going to lay soon!

i have a silver laced Wyandotte who is 3 days away from 5 months old. She is being very loud and constantly squawking and wandering around never staying still. Her comb and wattle just turned deep bright red. I just read about squating so I put my hand out, and she squared all three times I tried! I have 8 chickens total, but none of them are anywhere near as red as she is. Is this a sign that she will start laying soon? This is my first batch of chickens ever so I’m very excited!

Has she been checking out the nesting boxes, and scratching around in there? Mine squatted about one or two weeks before starting to lay, but as others told me, it was the interest in thw nesting box that really happened right before laying the first egg. They also got more vocal.
