I recently posted a picture of her egg that has been covered in blood and since that post she hasn’t laid any eggs except when today I go to collect eggs and I see blood everywhere and I knew it was her but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. What can I do?

The prolapse is not too bad, but it's been pecked (pic not very clear). Must isolate immediately. Please do not apply prep H or hydrocortisone cream, those are toxic for chickens. Do you have antibiotic cream without painkillers on hand? Do you have cold pressed coconut oil on hand? I never used sugar and it is contraindicated now because of active bleeding.

I posted on your other thread that there was a possibility that she may have been getting pecked, and so sorry that her vent is so raw. I am not sure if that is really a prolapse, but more like damage to her vent. I would try soaking her bottom in a warm Epsom salts bath once a day for a few days. If you agree that there is no prolapse of her cloaca, then I would apply some plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment twice a day. Keep her separated in a dog crate preferrably with her flock. When a vent is damaged, there might be more of a chance of egg binding or some leakage of droppings. Recently their were some pullets with severe pecking who healed just fine.

If you do see some prolapsed tissue come out, then it must be kept moist with a lubricant or oil to keep it from drying out. I posted the picture below which is more typical of a prolapse.

I would watch the hens as they are laying eggs, because it seems that there is a bully. She needs to be separated away from the flock for a week or so to try and lower her (the bully’s) rank in the pecking order.
