I woke up this morning to find my male buff duck with what seems to be a broken leg. I am keeping him and his girlfriend in the bathroom overnight to restrict movement and praying for some improvement in the morning. It's not looking good.v
Should I wrap and splint the leg? If so I'm guessing I will have to change it daily so it doesn't stay wet?
Any advice is appreciated!

:welcome Do you have any pics to post? This will really help the experts diagnose the problem better. Good luck.

Yep, pictures would be great.

Is this is an open or closed fracture?

Unless you take him to an avian vet, which is something I'd highly suggest doing if you can, you'll need to be very quick and efficient about it, and pick him up and try to locate specifically where the fracture is. This part is very important, so we know where exactly the fracture is, since each one has a different prognosis and is bandaged/splinted differently.

Poor guy. His leg definitely looks swollen. Hard to see from the pics if it’s broken or a sprain. It would be a good idea to get an X-ray. There’s a few minor abrasions on the bottom of his foot, but that doesn’t look like any infection right now.

Can you keep him fairly isolated from too much movement right now?

I am keeping them in the 8' x8' coop right now, I can tell it's stressful on both of them because they normally free range but it's the only way I could keep him from not moving too much and safe from predators.
He sees a little better today. All the online research I did said I should splint it?

I’ve never splint a duck, bu you could certainly try. At the very least maybe heavy bandages.
