I think my guineas think they are turkeys.

I recently started letting my guinea fowl out of the brooder to free range around the yard. I have four of them, I believe they are the pearl variety though some look like they could be mutts. Well, I have three turkeys and they always hang out together and don't graze with the chickens. My guinea fowl have actually been great, they return home every night and everything. I remember everyone telling me they would fly away. Then again they are only about 8 weeks old so they got a lot of growing to do.

Well I'll get to the point. I noticed all day the turkeys have been by the guineas. They go around together, eat together, explore, etc. Do guineas have some type of connection or fondness with turkeys? It's kind of neat watching them hang out and explore the world outside the brooder.

Guineas are very flock oriented and prefer to be around other birds, especially when young and still maturing, so they most likely just think your Turkeys are part of their flock (safety in numbers). It's great that they've bonded with the Turkeys and that they coop up for you already (if only we were ALL that lucky, lol). I have a Turkey Hen that thinks she's a Guinea, she sticks close to them and coops up each night with them. She can fly anywhere she wants to, but she doesn't like the other flocks that I have, only HER Guineas lol.
