Hi there,
My ex-battery hen has been very docile lately. She struggles to hop in and out of her run when the door is open and I really think she is having trouble seeing. She will only drink when I hold a tub of water under her beak and it's the same with eating. She is the last one of three we got two years ago so perhaps she is just on her way out :-(
Has anyone else had a similar eperience, is there anything I can do to make her better? I have her sitting next to me in my room at the mo, she likes company, didn't want to leave her outside alone right now.
Many thanks.

I wish I could help. The same thing happened to my rooster, "Two Feathers" this weekend. He was very docile and I noticed his head laying over to the left. We have been hand feeding him by eyedropper for the past three days. When he stands he stagers in circles and falls to the left. We have been giving him a steady diet of vitamins and antibotics mixed with milk soaked bread. He pecks at the ground by clearly cant see what he is pecking at. And this morning I stood over him strattling him one leg on both sides of him and he didnt know I was there. No reaction to my hands near his face either. I spoke to several farmers at the local flea market this weekend and they all have said the same thing...He's been beat up by another rooster. Breaks my heart, such a good little rooster. Please, if anyone can tell me if it may be something different I would much appreciate it.
