I think my hen is crazy

my hen is rubbing her beak on the ground like she is sharpening it. what is this purpose of this activity? thanks

She's cleaning it off. Did she eat something sticky? Mine do this after they eat yogurt or oatmeal.

It's very common - to get bug bits off, to "scratch her nose," or an incredible variety of other chickeny reasons.

I wonder how many chickens say "my human is crazy, she comes out here in my poopy pen and just sits and watches me".

I don't think so. they get to scratch on the ground and I feed them laying pellets and scratch feed. other than the occasional vegetable that's it. thanks for the reply.

I bet she is "filing" it. You can provide a cinderblock or cement stepping stone for his purpose, and your girls will file their own beaks.
