I think my hen is sabotaging her eggs

Hello! I have a year old hy-line hen who, until recently, was a great layer. She laid in the box and laid an egg every day. She's wonderful.

However, for the past week or so, she's been laying outside the box. Still, the eggs were fine, just in a weird place, so I gathered them up. Yesterday, the eggs started being broken. Today's egg was also broken. I've attached a picture, but it looks suspiciously like there's a well-placed peck in this egg.

Any idea what's going on, and how I might politely convince my hen to not? Thank you!

Do you have bedding and a 'nest egg' in the box ?

Yup! There's nice fluffy straw for her, and when she first started laying outside the box, I moved one of the eggs into the box to help her figure it out.
