I think my navy son is an alcoholic

Call the MWR on base -- Moral, Welfare and Recreation Department. Speak with someone in the family services department. You don't have to give your name, but give you situation and ask for advice as to where to turn next.

I am sorry not MWR, but the Fleet and Family Services Center (FSC)

Or even contact the Navy Chaplain on base

Thanks herefordlovinglady I will read the article more carefully in a moment. My son has old me that his job is stressful and dangerous (not from battle) but from hard work and lack of sleep. when he gets off he goes to the bars with friends and drinks then he texts me and girlfriends that he is going to end it all. When I express concern he says everyone in the Navy drinks. His brother says he is just trying to get sympathy from the girls.

How do I get the information for those dept. The Command master Chief and the Fleet and Family Services Center. I only know my son is Stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.

Here is the phone number to command support at Whidbey: 866.854.0638

You are doing the right thing, Mom. His life is the most important thing right now...the rest will fall into place when he is safe.

Prayers for him and you....

Military One Source is the DoD's response to the problems soldiers and their families are having

They are not allowed to "ruin his career" unless his actions impinge on his ability to do his job. But, as others said, suicide trumps career issues any day and besides it sounds like he is doing his best to ruin it on his own!

Please go to one source tell them your concerns.
